A brief profile of duties required to be performed by teachers is as follows:

Planning:
  • Designing the class/subject’s education program.
  • Continuing professional growth through educational meetings, visiting related facilities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas among the district staff.
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
  • Working in coordination with other teachers and other departments in planning and developing the class /subject’s education program.
Programming:
  • Preparing educational plans for each group of students based on individually assented needs.
  • Using appropriate assessment instruments pertinent to instructional area to access students’ progress.
  • Preparing lesson plan for each group or class assigned.
  • Developing and maintaining a classroom environment conductive to effective learning.
  • Providing varied instructional techniques and media through individuals and/or group sessions designed to meet the educational, social and emotional need of the students.
  • Providing for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshop, seminars, conferences and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
  • Assisting in preparing the students for curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Public Relations:
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with other employees.
Monitoring & Reporting :
  • Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her permanent folder.
  • Evaluating school progress on a regular basis and providing feedback to students and parents.
  • Supplying progress reports to school personnel and to parent of students as necessary and requested.
  • Referring those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel.
  • Attending and participating in faculty meeting or other meetings as required.
